Ian Macintosh

Ian grew up amidst the dancing Brolga’s on grassy plains and giant Crocodiles in meandering, muddy brown rivers in the remote outback town of Normanton in Queensland’s Gulf Of Carpentaria.

Ian is a former Rodeo Clown.  These days, he is a Balloon Artist who regularly entertains children at shopping centres, birthday parties and events with his amazing balloon creations.  Ian has loved writing stories and poems since he was a young boy.  He self published his first children’s story, Watch Out For The Bickie Monster, in November 2014, which went on to become a top 3 finalist for the NQ Arts Awards in Writing and Publication. Ian self published his second children’s story, Silly Socks, Sleepy Socks, in December 2015.

Ian regularly attends kindergartens and day care centres where he delivers his fun and interactive story time sessions based on his books. Ian also loves to share his own personal story with school students about how he became an author.

Ian’s other great passion is to encourage a love of creative writing in people from all backgrounds and walks of life. The Child Writes program coupled with Ian’s personal experiences and desire to encourage, motivate and inspire the next generation of writers is the perfect solution for any school that would like to nurture students who themselves have a passion for writing.
